September Member of the Month: Warings Bakery, Berkshire

A fourth-generation family bakery, has been part of Berkshire life since 1932 - and their story continues to rise.

What began with their great-grandfather has grown into a bakery that still rises early every morning to serve fresh bread, cakes, and pastries to local communities. Today, Warings runs six shops across Berkshire, including their brand-new store in Henley, complete with a fresh new look and logo to mark this exciting new chapter.

While tradition remains at the heart of their craft, Warings has embraced change. Alongside their local shops, their online store offers both local delivery and nationwide postal orders, sharing a little taste of Warings with people near and far.

Warings Bakery is a proud Diamond member of the Craft Bakers Association. Their connection to the CBA spans generations, with the family actively involved both within the association and in the LASER (London & South Eastern Region). For Warings, the CBA has provided not just support and guidance, but also a sense of belonging to a wider community of bakers.

Over the years, Warings has received awards such as National Bakery Awards County & Regional Winner, Reading Retailer of the Year, and Business in Action at the Pride of Reading Awards. But for the Warings family, the greatest reward is seeing customers return - whether it’s for their daily loaf, a weekend treat, or a cake to mark a special celebration.

At heart, Warings remains the same family of bakers: aprons dusted with flour, a love for their community, and pride in their craft. Their story is one of heritage, evolution, and family values.
