JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Reports to:      Bakery Manager

 

Location:         Dorringtons Ltd, Station Road, Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, CM21 9JY

 

Employment Type: Full Time Working Hours: Average 40 hours per week

Monday to Thursday from 05.00 am until 13.30 pm and Friday from 5.00 am until 12.30 pm.

 

Overview

 

We are looking for a Pastry Baker to prepare different types of sweet and savoury pastry products. The main focus is to produce a range of high-quality Danish pastries. The Pastry Baker should be a strong team player polite and helpful. Ensuring strict standards of health & safety, cleanliness, and personal hygiene are followed.

 

A Pastry Baker’s responsibilities include starting early in the morning, to produce baked goods for delivery or sale during regular business hours. The Pastry Baker will make sure Dorringtons offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

• Monitoring the standard of ingredients

• Preparing and cleaning equipment

• Measuring and weighing wet and dry ingredients

• Mixing of ingredients.

• Puff pastry and laminating process.

• Finishing of products.

 

Requirements

 

Baking requires attention to detail and careful measuring of ingredients. Baking is a science, and Bakers must be good at following directions and recipes in order to make a deliciously finished product. A successful Baker candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications that include the following.

 

• Minimum of 2 years of Pastry Baking Experience

• Ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent baking skills

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations

• Knowledge of production techniques for baked goods

• Organisational and planning skills

• Ability to multitask.

• Creativity in developing new products if required.

• Numerical skills for recipe calculations
