Benevolence

This charitable fund supports trainees and experienced bakers within the industry, as well as supporting baker members and their dependants that may need assistance. The charitable fund is managed by a team of Trustees, Daniel Carr, Christina Freeman and George Fuller supported by Chair and Trustee of the Fund Shirley Ryder.


We are here to help

The Fund provides a quarterly grant to its eligible beneficiaries of £200.00 and a Christmas Gift of £250.00.

The fund can also support with ex gratia payments that can assist members in purchasing essential resources to such as a new washing machine, fridge freezer, wheelchairs etc. We have assisted many of beneficiaries with a variety of requests over many years and will continue to aid any beneficiaries by providing this extra financial support.

Education

The Education part of the fund is there to assist Students/Trainees and experienced bakers within the industry to further their knowledge and support where necessary.


We are here to help

Everyone needs a little help from time to time and the CBA Education fund is aimed at students/trainees/apprentices within the industry with the cost of courses/travel and work experience.

With our help, we aim to remove the barrier of cost to ensure that you gain the valuable experience needed to further your career in the industry. To apply for funding, please fill out the contact form below and tell us a little about yourself so that we can get back in touch with you and support you in the best possible way The CBA is very proud of its support of Education within the industry. In 1892 It donated £500.00 from the fund to provide an education facility in London for Bakers. This was the foundation of the National Bakery School in South East London, now part of the London South Bank University, where students continue to train today undertaking a three-year degree. We have been supporting education for over 135 years!
