Save Money on Your Bakery’s Energy Bills with a Climate Change Agreement (CCA)

What is a CCA?
A Climate Change Agreement is a Government-backed scheme that rewards businesses for improving their energy efficiency. If you run a bakery business, you could be eligible to save a significant amount on your energy bills – a valuable tax rebate known as a discount on the Climate Change Levy (CCL).

💷 As of 1st April 2024, the maximum discounts available under the scheme are:

  • 92% off electricity

  • 🔥 89% off gas

  • 🛢️ 89% off coal (not typically used in this sector)

  • 💨 77% off LPG (used very minimally in the bakery sector)

These savings can equate to around 10% or more off your total energy bill, depending on your usage.

🌱 Why join the scheme?

By joining the CBA's Climate Change Agreement, you:

  • Unlock huge tax relief on your energy bills.

  • Join the fight against climate change by reducing your CO₂ emissions.

  • Receive expert guidance and support to meet energy-saving targets.

  • Help protect the bakery sector from rising energy taxation.

The CBA manages the agreement on behalf of the sector, in partnership with environmental specialists SLR Consulting.

💷 What does it cost?

CBA members benefit from reduced rates, thanks to their contribution to the association’s policy and sustainability efforts.
