New Employer Guide for Bakery Apprenticeships
LSBU Group and the National Bakery School have launched a new Employer Guide for bakery apprenticeships, designed to help employers understand how they can recruit and develop new talent through the Baker Level 2 and Lead Baker Level 3 apprenticeship standards.
At a time when many employers are facing skills shortages, recruitment pressures and the need to build stronger internal talent pipelines, apprenticeships offer a practical and funded route to bring new people into the sector, develop existing staff and support long-term workforce planning.
Through LSBU Group and the National Bakery School, employers can access specialist bakery expertise, block teaching delivery, structured progress reviews, support with recruitment and advertising through Find an Apprenticeship, and guidance on apprenticeship funding. Support is also available for employers looking to understand levy, non-levy funding and potential levy transfer opportunities where relevant.
The Employer Guide provides further information on:
The Baker Level 2 and Lead Baker Level 3 apprenticeship standards
How the apprenticeships are delivered through block teaching
Employer costs, funding routes and wage considerations
Support available through LSBU Group, including recruitment and onboarding
The role of Aptem and the employer dashboard
End-point assessment through FDQ
The wider strength and heritage of LSBU Group and the National Bakery School
