Seeing the Impact of National Doughnut Week First-Hand
Last week, CBA CEO Karen Dear and Marketing & Communications Coordinator Amber Moore had the privilege of visiting The Children's Trust in Tadworth as early planning begins for National Doughnut Week 2026.
For many bakeries, National Doughnut Week is a fantastic opportunity to engage customers, boost sales and be part of something positive across the industry. But visiting The Children’s Trust is a powerful reminder of what sits behind the week and why participation matters.
An Incredible Facility Supporting Families
The Children’s Trust provides specialist rehabilitation, education and care for children with acquired brain injuries. During the visit, we were shown around the facilities and given a deeper insight into the breadth of support they offer.
From therapy and rehabilitation spaces to education and family support services, every part of the organisation is built around helping children regain independence and supporting families through incredibly challenging circumstances.
Hearing directly from the team about the journeys families go through makes the purpose of National Doughnut Week feel very real.
A Simple Product, A Significant Impact
One of the highlights of the visit was seeing children decorating doughnuts. It was joyful, creative and uplifting. It also perfectly captured the spirit of National Doughnut Week.
A simple product.
A familiar treat.
A collective industry effort.
Yet the funds raised through bakeries across the UK contribute directly towards life-changing care and rehabilitation.
Planning for 2026
During the visit, we met with industry partners including CSM Ingredients and Dunns Bakery to begin discussing plans for National Doughnut Week 2026. Collaboration across the baking industry is what makes the week so successful year after year.
The generosity of participating bakeries, suppliers and customers is what enables the charity to continue providing specialist care.
Why Bakeries Should Take Part
For bakeries, National Doughnut Week is more than a fundraising initiative. It is an opportunity to:
Engage your local community
Showcase your creativity
Drive footfall and sales
Strengthen team morale
Align your business with a meaningful cause
Most importantly, it allows your bakery to be part of a national effort that directly supports children and families facing unimaginable challenges.
Get Involved in 2026
Sign-ups for National Doughnut Week 2026 will open soon, and we encourage bakeries of all sizes to consider taking part.
