Member of the Month
We are proud to announce Niche Patisserie as our Member of the Month for April. Located in the heart of Oswestry, Shropshire, Niche Patisserie has made a name for itself both locally and nationally. Co-owned by Adam Cleal and his mother, Samantha Cleal, the business began in May 2020 from humble beginnings, starting in the family kitchen during the COVID-19 lockdown.
From those early days of baking for family and neighbors, Niche Patisserie has grown into a successful bakery with a strong team of nine members. They now operate from a beautiful Grade II listed Tudor building dating back to 1621, which has been carefully restored and converted into a bakery, café, and afternoon tea lounge.
Niche Patisserie's journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Adam's background as Head Pastry Chef at several Michelin-starred hotels, including his experience on the Semi-Finalist team of Bake Off: The Professionals in 2019, has undoubtedly shaped the quality and creativity behind their baked goods. The business quickly gained a loyal following during the pandemic and expanded to wholesale customers across the UK, including London, Devon, Dorset, and more.
The business has continued to thrive, recently becoming a finalist for the Outstanding Customer Service Award at The Shropshire Chamber Awards 2025. Niche Patisserie is also well known for their impressive accolades, including multiple Great Taste Awards.
We are continually impressed with Niche Patisserie’s dedication to both quality and community, and we thank them for their ongoing support of the CBA. Their commitment to promoting the CBA across their social media channels and their success story is an inspiration to all of us.
