Luke Evans Bakery is one of Britain’s oldest bakeries, with a history that stretches back to 1804. For more than 220 years, they have been rooted in the Derbyshire community, crafting baked goods with the same care, skill and commitment that have defined their business for generations.
Their connection to the Craft Bakers Association goes back so far that no one can quite pinpoint when it began. As long-standing members of the original Master Bakers Association, Luke Evans Bakery has always valued the service and support the CBA provides. HR guidance remains one of the resources they rely on most, and their relationship with the association continues to grow stronger.
Heritage sits at the heart of everything Luke Evans Bakery does. Many of their team have been with the business for decades, and most of their management team began their careers at 16 before progressing through the bakery to become experienced leaders in their forties and fifties. This loyalty and shared knowledge create the strong foundation that has allowed the bakery to thrive for more than two centuries.
Luke Evans Bakery operates as a wholesale bakery, supplying more than 200 stockists across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. With deliveries running six days a week and many arriving before 9.30am, they pride themselves on reliable customer service and a product range shaped by consistency and quality.
Today, the bakery is entering an exciting phase of investment and evolution. Recent developments include new computer systems, upgraded equipment, a refreshed website and a complete rebrand. This new branding reflects their heritage and their premium product range and is now proudly displayed across their vans, uniforms and packaging.
